Hi,
First I must admit I did not know how to spell Christmassy (or should it be Christmasy or Christmasie?) but I hope you know what I mean.
I admit that I have not even bought a present yet and am not sure how much preparation there still is to do but despite this on Sunday evening I found myself becoming Christmassy. Not because I suddenly realised how I could get everything done or that there was less to do as I thought or that I had magically managed to get another couple of days more than anyone else to get myself ready.
What made me really connect with the celebration of the birth of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords in a stable in Bethlehem was watching the BBC DVD of the Nativity.
In case you do not know it shows the nativity written as a story in straight time line. But for me how it was written is not important but what is important is the fact that it conveys the story as true to gospel readings as believed possible and is also true to the realism of the surroundings etc.
It seems to me that it was a really relevant way to show the nativity and to open the eyes of individuals to the fact that this was God's son.
What do you think?
I have left this blog short (for me) and encourage all who read it to join in with the forum on The Nativity on this website.
God Bless
Paul
